Patricia Spiser, BSN RN-BC
Nurse Navigator
Patricia Spiser’s career at Midland Health has spanned 20 years. After graduating from Midland College with her RN, she started working in the emergency department. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University while helping Midland Health start their outpatient cardiac rehab program. It was while working in Cardiac Rehab that she discovered her passion for teaching, both one on one and in a group setting. Her years working in the Lifestyle Medicine department taught her a more holistic approach to medicine; one that involves treating and supporting the whole person, and their family, and is not just focused on their disease process.
Patricia is passionate about her lung navigator role, because she has experienced the journey of lung cancer diagnoses and treatment with two close family members. Those experiences give her a unique perspective to provide compassionate care combined with technical excellence.
Patricia is an engaging public speaker on topics related to lung health, such as: smoking prevention (to adults and children), smoking cessation and its benefits, and the importance of low dose CT screening and early lung cancer detection.
