Marcy Askins practices as an Advance Practice Nurse (APRN) at Permian Cardiology under the supervision of Dr. James Barnett. She has more than 17 years of professional nursing experience in cardiology, primary care and acute care.
Marcy became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2012, earning her degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. She served as the Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab and Specials Procedure Lab at Odessa Regional Medical Center (ORMC) from 2003 to 2010. While at ORMC, she served as the Stroke Educator for Nursing and the Community, as well as Chest Pain Coordinator for the stroke and chest pain accreditation.
Marcy is currently attending Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for which she is earning her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, with an anticipated graduation in 2019. She plans on continuing her post graduate education to become an APRN with a dual degree as an Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-C).
Marcy is a Native West Texan, born in Odessa, Texas.
