Dr. Burkes did a dual Trauma and Arthroplasty
Fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, under
renowned surgeons, Dr. Kyle and Dr. Templeman. There he operated on complex
traumas and total joint revisions that were sent to them from throughout
Minnesota.
Dr. Burkes has a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M
University and completed the dual MD/MBA program from Texas Ŧ University Health
Sciences Center. He did his Orthopedic Residency at Kansas City
University Medical Center in Kansas City. During his residency he trained
with the doctors covering the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dr. Burkes is from Midland and is excited to be back home. He truly cares
about his patients and strives to provide the best patient care. He and
his wife Amy, are parents to two little girls. In his free time he enjoys
tennis, outdoor activities, and sitting around the campfire with his kids
making s’mores.
