The Midland County Hospital District Police Department (MCHD PD) is excited to announce that every full-time Texas Peace Officer, Security Officer and Telecommunicator on staff has completed training as instructors for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).

This training is presented through Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT). CRASE training provides civilians with the opportunity to build strategies and preparedness for active shooter events.

“While we hope the day never comes that this training has to be put in action, it is a top priority for our staff at MCHD PD to be equipped with the best training to protect our facility, patients, visitors and staff,” said Chief of Police Steven McNeill. “I am very proud of this team. This training enhances our readiness and provides Midland Health personnel greater access to instructors for CRASE training.”

The MCHD PD completed this training through a coordinated response with Texas Engineering and Extension Service (TEEX).
