Pharmacy Implements New Technology to Advance Patient Safety

The Midland Memorial Hospital Pharmacy is proud to announce the implementation of Baxter's DoseEdge Pharmacy Workflow Manager.

The new Workflow Manager system will advance patient safety to new levels within the pharmacy operations at MMH.

The program allows us to standardize preparation steps in the sterile IV compounding room and create more uniform processes among users. The system will also allow us to automate compounding calculations. This kind of standardization and automation will even further enhance patient safety through more integration with barcode scanning, image capture of medication vials and advanced technology that verifies ingredients.  These new safety processes will reduce sources of preparation errors such as wrong drug selection and incorrect dose concentration.
